To be eligible for WITT Sports Academy you must meet all of the following criteria:  
• Have been a student at a Taranaki high school in 2021 or 2022  
• Meet the programme entry criteria and be accepted to start your full-time study at WITT in Trimester 1  
• Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident at the time of application  
• Be available to attend an interview with WITT staff (if required)  
• Commit to a minimum attendance requirement that may apply  
• Acknowledge that members of Sports Academy must also:  
  1. Pass at least 75% of their first year courses,    
  2. Meet all programme requirements for advancement to the second year of the programme (if appicable).

Personal Statement    
Please upload a personal statement (500 words maximum) telling us why you would be a deserving Sports Academy recipient. Include details of your chosen sport, your achievments to date and future goals (both academic and sport related). Also include how you see WITT Sport Academy helping you to reach these goals. You may also choose to include letters of support from your school or community or similar if you feel it is relevant.    
   
     
   
3. APPLICANT’S DECLARATION  
     
I confirm that:  
• The information set out in this form is true, accurate and complete;  
• I understand that the information supplied on this form will be held by WITT and kept confidential by the WITT selection panel and authorised staff of WITT;  
• I understand WITT may make enquiries about my achievements and character where necessary and that this information will remain confidential to WITT;  
• I understand that the decision of the selection panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into;  
• I understand that my Fees-Free eligibility determines which year I receive the scholarship. It is my responsibility to check that my status is correct with TEC and to provide any necessary documents TEC requires related to my eligibility;  
• I understand that I am responsible for the Student Services Levy fee, course related costs and any fees over and above the equivalent of full-time study, that are not approved to be included in the scholarship;  
• If granted a place at Sports Academy, I give WITT permission to publish my name and photo and agree to participate in WITT marketing activities (if required).  
• I understand that from 2023, WITT and the programme you have enrolled in will become part of Te Pūkenga.  
      
       
      
• Applications close 9am Monday 31st October 2022. Applicants will be notified by Mid November.  
• Please note that you do not need to wait until you have your NCEA Level 3 results to apply.  
• Students thinking of studying with WITT in 2023 will be enrolled as Te Pūkenga students. Please note this will not affect scholarship recipients.
